Here is a post with my paintings!  When I was a little girl, I read a book called 'Miss Rumphius' by Barbara Cooney.  I still own that book, and have it sitting out on my kitchen table, now, as I type.  I re-read this book often because it holds a life lesson that I think is one of the most important one of all:  to leave the world more beautiful than we found it.  This can be a simple thing, like taking care of a garden, growing flowers, being accountable, responsible, giving and living a life of service, and it can also mean art, or perhaps being a lawyer, or whatever you are.  No matter what you do or who you are there are so many ways we can do this - leave the world more beautiful than we found it - and that is what I hope and try to do with my paintings and with my art.

I. Am.

By

Emma Teller

I am a painter who likes to write
I am a writer who also paints.

I am a poet who likes to run
I am a runner, who also thinks.

I am a woman who loves the sand.
I am a woman who loves the sea.
I am a woman who loves the trees

I am a person, who loves to be.

Considering this is my blog, its high time I shared my work with you!  I hope you enjoy it and that it brings you a special look into nature because that is what it is there for - for enjoyment and to bring us back to that simple contemplation of truth and of beauty.  To be an artist is to have a gift.  A gift of love and of beauty to share with the world in any way that you can.  My favorite thing about art?  That it connects me with the people I love the most, with artists and people from the past, and with new people I did not know before.  Perhaps I shall meet you this way, through art!  And I hope I do.   So please don't  hesitate to contact me with thoughts about what inspires YOU, what you think about art, the art of today, the art of the past, or with a need, feedback or a request for my own art.  Enjoy!
